'Went to the car wash, came home with a kitten': Driver trying to help a scared kitten hiding underneath their truck during a Saturday errand run unexpectedly gains a new furry best friend

This kitten treated the underside of a truck like his personal Uber ride into a forever home.

A normal Saturday coffee and car wash run quickly turned into a classic Reddit r/CatDistributionSystem subreddit story after a tiny kitten climbed into somebody's truck and refused to leave.

While waiting in line at the car wash, workers spotted a scared little kitten trying to stay out of the road. The kitten ran under the truck and somehow crawled up inside part of the vehicle near the rear wheel. After a long attempt to coax him out at the car wash, the rescue mission moved over to a nearby Discount Tire where employees immediately stepped in to help.

The Discount Tire workers seriously deserve a shoutout too. They pulled the truck into the bay, removed panels underneath to safely reach the kitten, dried him off with paper towels, and even brought him water. Tiny kittens somehow have a way of turning complete strangers into a full rescue team within minutes.

After that came a vet visit and a mostly clean bill of health for the little guy. By the time they asked whether the kitten had a name yet, the answer was already obvious. Naming him Rivian after the truck he climbed into is honestly perfect.

One second this kitten was hiding inside a truck at a car wash, and the next he had a name, a vet appointment, supplies waiting at home, and a whole new family. Rivi really picked the right truck that morning.

If car washes started giving out kittens, every single car in the country would be sparkling clean at all times. People would be lining up daily hoping a tiny fluffy stowaway would crawl out from underneath their truck and choose them next. Unlimited washes, premium detailing, whatever it takes. Rivi seriously turned an ordinary Saturday errand into the greatest customer loyalty program a car wash has ever accidentally created.

It really takes a village sometimes, especially with tiny scared kittens like this. Rivi got incredibly lucky that so many people immediately stepped up to help instead of just ignoring the situation. From the car wash workers trying to keep him safe from the road to the Discount Tire employees helping pull him out and dry him off, everybody played a part in getting this little guy safely into a forever home. Stories like this are always such a good reminder that there are still a lot of genuinely kind people out there willing to help a tiny animal in need.
